About Rebecca

Running to Protect the New Hampshire Advantage

Meet Rebecca

Rebecca Harned is a working parent, scientist, and dedicated public servant proud to raise her family in New Hampshire’s Seventh Senate District. The daughter of a service-disabled, U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, Rebecca understands the financial pressures facing hard working families, seniors, and veterans as the cost of living continues to rise across the state.

Rebecca graduated from Colby-Sawyer College, putting herself through school with financial aid and two jobs before earning her master’s degree. She went on to spend more than a decade in Washington, D.C., working under the Obama, Biden, and Trump administrations to provide public safety and disaster preparedness initiatives that strengthened local communities while protecting taxpayer dollars. Her work delivered practical results through responsible leadership and effective management.

In 2017, Rebecca returned home to New Hampshire to raise her family and invest in the community she loves. She lives in Sutton, works as a research scientist studying risk and community resilience, and serves on the Kearsarge Regional School District Municipal Budget Committee, where she helps ensure responsible stewardship of local tax dollars while supporting strong public schools.

Rebecca and her family enjoy spending time outdoors in New Hampshire’s lakes and mountains, and she is committed to building a more affordable, responsible future for the communities of Senate District 7.
